Wolverhampton Wanderers have turned down a player-plus-cash offer from Newcastle United for Max Kilman, according to a report from talkSPORT.
The Magpies were ready to include their academy product Elliot Anderson in the deal but Wolves were not interested.
The West Midlands outfit also rejected a £25 million bid from West Ham United as they want in excess of £45m to let their star player leave this summer.
Kilman arrived at the Molineux Stadium in 2018 from Maidenhead United and has since made 151 appearances across all competitions.
The 27-year-old was a key member of Gary O’Neil’s side last season as they finished 14th in the Premier League.
He started all 38 matches in the English top-flight, with two goals to his name.
Kilman is contracted with Wolves until 2028 and only a huge transfer fee could convince them to part with him in the English summer window.
Newcastle endured a difficult 2023-24 campaign under Eddie Howe as they finished seventh to miss out on European football next season.
The Magpies will aim to bolster their ranks this summer as they look to make a comeback next term.
They have already completed a deal for Lloyd Kelly but want to add another centre-back.
Newcastle have earmarked Kilman as an ideal option but face the difficult task of convincing Wolves to sell the 27-year-old.
The Old Gold are under no pressure to sell as the player has four years left on his current contract.
